RISE Camp 2019 Week 7
Our RISE Camp summer begins to wind down with Week 7, but our energy is as high as ever!
The Ultimate Challenge took place over the course of this week. The participating campers were placed onto teams coached by a counselor, and then faced off in epic Ultimate Frisbee games. The theme this year is Disney, so every team was named after their captain and an iconic Disney character. Every day the teams played in a tournament-style competition. Finally, in classic RISE Camp style, at the very end of the week everybody receives a personalized award. No matter how our team performs, we are all winners because we had a great time!
The Upper Campers also surprised the Directors of MB Summer Camps, Diane and Jen, with an incredible hand-made wooden sculpture this Friday. It was so thoughtful of our campers to show them how much we appreciate the work they do.
This week our Lower Campers had a great time creating art projects, going on expeditions, doing yoga and playing outside. Some of their projects included Disney crafts and making Pharaoh Hats! Every time I walked through the Lower Camp I saw tons of excited campers rushing to their next activity. Thank you to the incredibly creative Lower Camp counselors for planning these fun-filled days!

The Cardboard Houses course, led by counselor Alicia, lets campers create their own world. Every week campers craft a miniature doll house completely out of recycled materials, such as boxes, bottle caps, bits of fabric, and a whole lot of hot glue. They have such a great time that a few campers have stayed in the course for the majority of the summer!
