Studio Playground Theater Production Camp

Join Studio Playground and Moses Brown School for our summer theater camp for ages 12-17! Studio Playground teaches classes based in movement and physical theater. Our acting classes for teens provide a joyful and supportive environment for young actors to explore monologues, Shakespeare, stage combat, vocal performance, and scene study as they build cumulative skills for audition techniques and ensemble development. This program culminates in 2 performances in Providence, Rhode Island.

In this 2-week camp, students create an original show under the guidance of Studio Playground's experienced teaching artists. Each day begins with a group warm-up and movement games as students learn skills for collaboration and ensemble development. In the first week, classes focus on performance skills and developing original characters. In the second week, students focus on the production as they determine the theme for our play and become immersed in the rehearsal process. Campers must be able to follow directions.

An invited performance for friends and family takes on Friday, August 8 on Moses Brown School campus. On Saturday, August 9, there will be a public performance at a venue to be determined in Providence. There is an additional rehearsal prior to the performance on Saturday, August 9.
