Digital Fabrication and Design

July 9–13 or July 16–20

Half-day: 8:45–11:30 a.m.

Ages 9-12

Do you love using computers? Do you enjoy designing and building things? Want to use the laser cutter? Join us for Digital Fabrication!

Students will explore digital design tools and resources, beginning with an overview of the machines available in Moses Brown’s new Y-Lab, including a laser cutter, 3D printers, a wire bender, and CNC machines.

We will use the laser cutter to etch and cut different materials including wood, acrylic, fabric, cork, rubber, leather, and more. Students will use CAD software to create their own digital design files, prototype them, revise their designs, and iterate their way to a finished product.

Campers may join other MB camps in the afternoon, but must register separately.
